Lo SpeedPuck, nella foto courtesy si Daily Sail, è il nuovo strumento di Velocitek, azienda che si è particolarmente distinta negli ultimi anni per i suoi strumenti di navigazione a tecnologia GPS.
L'ultinmo nato è uno strumento portatile disegnato specificatamente per le derive o per poter essere tenuto in mano dal tattico anche in situazioni difficili (hiking).
Il Velocitek SpeedPuck è in grado di fornire le seguenti informazioni:
Log GPS
Bussola digitale
Grafico con indicazione dei cambi di direzione del vento.
Registrazione della top speed.
Waterproof fino a 3 mt di profondità
Come sempre funziona a batteria.
Inoltre registra, in modalità rolling, le ultime 20 ore di dati di navigazione che poi possono essere scaricati da una porta USB e riprodotti su PC con il SpeedPlay race replay software.

A noi ci sembra carino sopratutto per la facilità di utilizzo.

Velocitek has announced the release of the Velocitek SpeedPuck. The device combines a high-accuracy GPS speedometer, digital compass and bar graph wind shift indicator in a compact, durable package. It is designed to be mounted on a dinghy or hand held when hiking on a sportboat.

In addition to providing easy to use real-time feedback, the SpeedPuck automatically records a rolling 20 hour GPS data log of the user's most recent races and training sessions. The SpeedPuck works with Velocitek's SpeedPlay race replay software, allowing racers to combine their GPS data with other boats and create race replays superimposed on a map background.

We like it mostly for the ease of use.
