Mascalzone Latino lost their lead at the mid point of the run to ITA Bugua and these two led the fleet around the bottom gate. ITA Team 93 rounded in third with a real melee of boats coming around behind them headed by USA Bliksem in fourth.

The leaders all chose the left mark except for Bliksem who went right.
